This section provides a set of tools used to cracking applications under the Mac platform. Obviously these tools can be used for a variety of other tasks like debugging or low-level system hacking. Again, most resources are outdated.

Cracking

The well known classic cracking tutorial, a must read.

Simple kracking tools packages, I didnt make it so I dont know whats in there (No, I didnt bother unstuffing it, I've got 2100+ files to check ;P)

Another interesting text, this one is for PCs but hey, its always good to know some PC assembly ;-)

Debuggers

Macsbug (no it doesnt mean its a bug in your mac, its the short for Motorolla something, I'm just too lazy to check out what it is ;P) thats the classic and probably the best Macintosh debugger around, this version is pretty recent.

I just love that debugger! it has a GUI (Graphical User Interface) with menus and everything.. way cool.

Calls the debugger each 1/10th of a second. Useful for application who try to bypass the debugger.

Everything you always wanted to know about debuggers but were too lazy to ask.. or just didnt bother asking.

Dissasemblers

The MacNosy PPC dissasembler with the Debugger debugger all in one package.

Very good PPC dissasembler

Resource, Data fork and Hex Editors

My favourite one ;-) all the goodies of Resourcerer in a small, fast loading application.

The official resource editor from apple, very nice one.

Well, you may want to download that if you downloaded the upper file..

Extension which allows ResEdit to read/edit Data Forks.

Erases the data fork of a file.

Very good Hex editor.

Transfers decimal values to hex values

Misc Utilities

Destroys a file (Overwrites its actual content) so it becomes unrecoverable.

Create ugly graphics using ASCII characters and show them to the world through your favourite chat client.

Allows you to write on locked floppies.

Compares the resources forks of two files.

Compares the Resource and Data forks of two files and creates patches for them.

Useful to create updates or cracks.

Multi-purposes cracking applications

Copy the EEP ROM of your macintosh to a file.
